Samuel holds a Ph.D. in Theological Philosophy from Concordia Seminary.  He is currently the President and a full-time professor at the China Evangelical Seminary North America (CESNA), specializing in biblical books, Old Testament theology, biblical languages, and exegesis.  He had previously served as the President of the China Lutheran Seminary in Taiwan and as a pastor at the Lutheran Grace Chinese Church.
