Full-time Students
Take a full course load each semester and devote yourself to theological training. This path is best suited for those with a clear sense of calling who are preparing wholeheartedly for ministry.
Part-time Students
Work and study at the same time with flexible course planning. This option allows you to be steadily equipped while responding to God’s call in the midst of daily responsibilities.
On-campus Students
Attend classes in person and enjoy direct interaction with professors and fellow students, as well as the blessings of community life. This is ideal for those living near campus or able to commute regularly.
Online Synchronous Students
Participate in live-streamed classes in real time. No matter where you are, you can join the discussion and learn alongside your peers.
Online Asynchronous Students
View recorded lectures after class and arrange your studies according to your own schedule. This option is especially fitting for those in different time zones or in need of greater flexibility.
F-1 International Students (Study in the U.S.)
Those wishing to study in the United States under an F-1 student visa must meet U.S. immigration requirements and complete the necessary application procedures. Please refer to International Student.
Definition of International Students
Anyone who is not a U.S. citizen or does not hold U.S. permanent resident status is considered an international student.
Application Process for International Students
International applicants who wish to study at China Evangelical Seminary North America (CESNA) must complete a two-part application process:
Part One – Submit the standard application form, the same as domestic (U.S.-based) applicants. This includes the admissions review and entrance examination.
Part Two – Applicants who successfully complete Part One may then apply for admission to the United States with the appropriate student visa in order to pursue studies at CESNA.
Application Timeline
The entire admissions process follows four sequential steps. The chart below outlines the key deadlines and dates:

Pre-Admitted (Non-degree/Special Student) Admission
Anyone intending to apply within two years for the Doctor of Ministry (D.Min.), Master of Theology (Th.M.), Master of Divinity (M.Div.), Master of Theological Studies (M.T.S.), Master of Christian Studies (M.C.S.), or Certificate in Christian Studies may apply first as a Pre-Admitted (Trial/Non-degree) Student.
Categories:
a. For Doctor of Ministry (D.Min.) and Master of Theology (Th.M.) applicants
May take up to 2 courses prior to official admission.
Credits may be transferred once admission is granted.
Tuition: USD $305 per credit.
b. For Master’s-level applicants (M.Div., M.T.S., M.C.S., Certificate in Christian Studies)
May take up to 3 courses prior to official admission.
Credits may be transferred upon passing the entrance examination and being formally admitted.
Tuition: USD $218 per credit.

Admission Requirements
Applicants must be born-again Christians, baptized (or confirmed) at least three years prior to the application deadline.
Applicants should demonstrate a clear commitment to Christian ministry in areas such as pastoral care, teaching, missions, or counseling.
A bachelor’s degree or an officially recognized equivalent is required.
Graduates of a three-year college program may be required to complete additional credits.
International applicants must complete at least one year of university study in their home country before applying.
Additional Requirement for Master of Divinity (M.Div.) Applicants:
Candidates must have a sense of God’s calling to full-time ministry and a firm decision to serve the church in a full-time capacity.
Married applicants must have a Christian spouse who supports their pursuit of theological training at CESNA.

Applicants who meet the initial review requirements will be scheduled for a written entrance examination and an online interview.
